Waterley

Brockenhurst in the New Forest

Waterley's Guest Book

When I get to Waterley the first thing I head for is the Guest Book. I'm getting addicted to reading all the comments people leave, seeing what they have enjoyed, where they have been and their remarks about the cottage.

I thought I would share them with you. So here we have entries for 2010:

Julie & Richard, London

Wonderful weather and a lovely break in the New Forest. Thanks Ann

Trevor, Audrey & Oscar, Bristol.

'Absolutely splendid'! We missed any info about recycling and only spotted the special bags under the stairs toward the end of the holiday.

Jef & Helen Lawrence, Amersham, Bucks.

A perfect holiday cottage we are relaxed and refreshed ...... what a beautiful house.

Gudmundur Jonsoon & Soeann Kjurtansdottir, Reykjavik, Iceland

We've had a wonderful time here with our friends. The cottage is lovely and the weather surprisingly good. We particularly enjoyed the walks in the Forest (so few trees in Iceland!)

Liz, Guy, Harry & Rachael, Kent.

We've had a fab week - fantastic weather and a great mix of woodland and coastal walks.

Martin and Linda Page, Maidenhead.

This cottage is lovely and we keep coming back. A trip to the Isle of Wight was great and a great walk from Yarmouth to the Needles on the coastal walk. Sunday lunch at Red Lion at Boldre was very disappointing but the meal at the Hobler was excellent. Snakecatcher in the village has just reopened. [April] Nice atmosphere and food. Filley Inn - awful!

Caroline and Matt, Norwich, Norfolk.

A lovely cotage, well equipped and met all our needs. We have had a wonderful week and will be back for more!

Simon, Jemma, Alex and Millie, Bristol

Super cottage. We really appreciated the welcoming finishing touches. Beaulieu and Portsmouth (Victory and Warrier) were good to visit on the 2 rainy days. Enjoyed cycling through 20 miles of forest track, Hurst Castle by ferry, Milford beach on the fine days. Cream tea at Rhinefield House was a special treat.

Sean and Julie, Tyne & Wear.

Another great holiday. Enjoyed riding and lots of teashops. Great cycling and walking. Be back again.

John & Wenda Rowe, Maidenhead, Berks.

A very enjoyable 2nd visit to this well kept and comfortable cottage.

Kate, Andrew, Emma and Paul, Bromley, Kent.

Lovely comfortable cottage - great location. Enjoyed visits to Bucklers Hard/Beaulieu, Hurst Castle, Lepe and a trip to the Isle of Wight from Lymington. A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable week.

The Wittons of Worcestershire - Lynne, Geoff, Madi and Dom.

Fab cottage, fab location. Enjoyed a nice pint at the Snakecatcher, pony trek from Ford Farm, Senspa at Careys Manor, Moors Valley at Ringwood to keep Dad happy with golf while Mum and kids cycled and went round the park. Bucklers Hard a very interesting day trip. Everyone's bottoms hurt from all the cycling! We're off to the I.o.W next.

[kids comments]

I had a fab time. I loved the horses by the house!!!

Good house perfection!

Julie, Mark, Connor and Caitlin, Amsterdam, Holland.

Had a wonderful time sharing my roots with the family. Great cottage - we fitted in perfectly! Highlight for the week was the New Forest Show and explaining country life to our city kids. (Connor is now considering vegetarianism!) Had many great walks and meals. We loved Il Palio 2 [near the Station] - great Italian food (even if the building could do with a refurb!) Lovely meal at the Hobler; awful at the Filly Inn. We'll be back!

Terry, Jo and Jake Spall, Dorset.

Another enjoyable week in the lovely cottage. Thank you.

Mandy, Dave, Will, Chloe, Bristol

[beautiful flower, stars and smiley face drawings] We have had a lovely week in this really nice cottage! I love the place and the cottage and the horses and donkeys are gorgeous! Its so relaxing, especially with nice weather, thanks for everything.

Lovely clean cottage. Thanks to Kay. Will definately be back. Great shops in Lymington - good food in the Ship Inn @ Lymington. Cycled to Beaulieu - cylce xperince cheapest bike hire! Lovely beaches at Highcliffe. We'll miss the ponies and donkeys. One week, wish it was two. We could stay forever.

Margaret Trevor Megan and Lewis, Kent.

Lovely cottage. Great time. Thank you.

Glennis and Howard, Stockton-on-Tees.

Had a lovely week despite weather not being brilliant. Love the cottage and village and the constantly changing animal landscape - particularly love the donkeys. Recommend the Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park near Ashurst and a viist to Keyhaven is a must for views over to the Isle of Wight. Lots we didn't get chance to do so I'm sure we'll be back and would stay here again - it's an ideal location. Thank you.

Jane and John Nottingham

Cottage lovely and comfortable. Still like seeing ponies and donkeys even after a week! Great weather which helps. Rose and Crown only 10 mins walk, nice pub, good foo. Nice town and walks from the doorstep.

Phil and Chris Lawrence, Frampton Cotterell, South Glos.

Have enjoyed staying in this comfortable and well appointed cottage. Our first holiday in this area so have been very busy walking, sightseeing and eating! Excellent meal at the Hobler Inn.

Carole and Roy, Herne Bay, Kent.

Once again a most enjoyable week in your beautiful cottage. Each day a new delight outside our window. Lovely walks and great pubs. Thank you!
